The following is the playoff picture for this weekend as I see it. I have broken down the division races by the tie breaking procedures in our rules. I have not broken down the Wild Card races because they are very complicated.

Tie Breakers: I wanted to let everyone know that we do not have a procedure for breaking a tie if three or more teams are tied (either for division or Wild Card). Therefore, I have researched various methods and have decided to utilize the NFL procedure since our tiebreaking procedure was originally drawn from them. Should anyone want to see the NFL procedure it can be found at http://www.nfl.com/news/981202ties.html. This will not apply this year for Division Championships, but may very well apply for Wild Card determination. The method, modified for our league, can be found at the bottom below.

Should anyone disagree with my decision to utilize the NFL procedure please contact me, but please remember we must have a fair procedure for breaking ties if more than two teams are involved.

Normal Transaction Deadline: Also, remember that the Normal Transaction Deadline will be 12:45 PM this Sunday (Week 13). After that time teams will be allowed only one position-for-position transaction (QB for QB, WR for WR, etc.) per week.

Note: When the first Wild-Card team has been identified, the procedure is repeated to name the second Wild-Card, i.e., eliminate all but the highest-ranked club in each division prior to proceeding to step 2, and repeated a third time, if necessary, to identify the third Wild Card. In situations where three or more teams from the same division are involved in the procedure, the original seeding of the teams remains the same for subsequent applications of the tie breaker if the top-ranked team in that division qualifies for a Wild-Card berth.
